Al Alamein

Al Alamein is the up and coming destination on the Mediterranean front in Egypt. The town of Al Alamein is located in-between the two most popular cities in the country, Alexandria and Cairo, and boasts one of the longest coastlines on the Northern Coast. Located in the northern Matrouh Governorate of Egypt, the town is 106 kilometres west of Alexandria and 240 kilometres northwest of Cairo. Skirting the Mediterranean Sea, Al Alamein is a haven graced with a nurturing breeze and an awe-inspiring sea.

In addition to the views of the sparkling blue sea water and an endless stretch of white sand beaches, Al Alamein also boasts an impressive number of attractions. Al Alamein was once the battleground of two major battles between British and Axis forces in 1942 during World War II. In fact, Al Alamein village hosts a war museum that houses relics and artefacts from North African Battles of World War II. The area also includes a massive burial ground for fallen German and Italian soldiers, with the German cemetery and its original medieval fortress layout still standing today.

Marassi

Nestled in between Alexandria and Al Alamein in Egypt’s North Coast, Marassi is a microcosm of several Mediterranean cultures. It hosts a melting pot of ethnicities, with eclectic neighbourhoods characterized by six different Mediterranean architectures and lifestyles, including those of Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Greece, Spain and Italy.

Marassi is a hotspot in the country’s North Coast, which has grown in popularity over the past few years, given its many attractions. Its tranquil waters and white sand beaches make it a quintessential Mediterranean attraction, and its support for ethnic diversity provides for an enviable quality of life. Marassi boasts one of the most vibrant communities in the North Coast due to its pulsing nightlife.

The rapid expansion of developments in the area is testament to its growing popularity as a beach resort destination. It currently hosts an array of world-class residences and is planned to add over 3000 hotel rooms. One of the key developments in the area is Address Marassi Golf Resort, with access to one of the finest beaches in the region and its signature golf course, exclusively designed by none other than Peter Harradine.
